Class of 2018

1974 graduate of South Windsor High School who was the fourth generation of his family to live on Felt Road which was the last piece of the family farmland established by his great grandfather Thomas in the early 1900’s.

After high school Tom attended the University of Connecticut. After over thirty years of service, he retired from the Metropolitan District as a Facilities/Maintenance Supervisor where he also served on the Metropolitan District Employees Credit Union Board of Directors including two terms as the Vice President.

Tom’s extensive public service includes serving on the South Windsor Board of Education, South Windsor Inland Wetlands / Conservation Commission and the South Windsor Town Council 1995-2007 and 2009-2017. During his time on the council he has been Mayor twice, Deputy Major and served on the first Strategic Planning Committee formed in 1999. He also chaired the Ethics Committee, Audit Committee, Public Health and Safety Committee, Public Building and Land Naming Committee and the Capitol Region Council of Government Ad Hoc Committee on Crumbling Foundations. Since 2017, Tom has served as the State Representative for the 14th General Assembly District – South Windsor. He is a member of the Planning and Development Committee, the Banking Committee and the Insurance and Real Estate Committee.

Tom resides on that old family farm site with his wife Audrey. He is also a Licensed Amateur Radio Operator since 1976 and holds an Amateur Advanced License.

Ralph was born and raised in New York and his time as an adolescent was always divided between his love of music and sports. He graduated from the University of Hartford – Hartt School of Music, double degree program in Music Education and Vocal Performance. He had numerous lead roles with the Hartt Opera Theater and was a soloist at concerts and recitals throughout New England. He was also Technical Director for the Hartt Opera Children’s Theater.

Ralph served thirty-four years as an Educator with South Windsor Public Schools. This included eighteen years as the Vocal Music Director, Technical Theater Director and Producer and Musical Director at South Windsor High School. Previously he was a Vocal Music Teacher at Timothy Edwards Middle School. He created all musical and logistical aspects for all concerts and shows and his groups won numerous “superior” ratings at music festivals in the United States and Canada and were featured at Disney World in 2004. He created the Technical Theater Course teaching students and staff on how to operate the high school’s state-of-the-art theater. He produced and musically directed yearly “Broadway” musicals. Ralph also served as an Assistant Football Coach at South Windsor High School for the period 1970-1980. Ralph was selected by WRCH radio station in Hartford, CT as “Connecticut’s Citizen of the Day” for his work with Connecticut’s youth and for spearheading the most successful student fundraising drive in Connecticut for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. He also received the “Outstanding Young Educator Award” from the South Windsor Jaycees.

Ralph served in the United States Army National Guard and 102nd Army Band as a saxophonist, vocalist, host and announcer for six years.

Ralph retired to Stowe, Vermont with his wife Patricia (a 1973 graduate of South Windsor High School) and has three children and three grandchildren. Ralph is very proud to have attained his 2nd Degree Black Belt in ShaolinWushu – Kempo Karate with his son Scott (5th Degree Black Belt) as his instructor. Ralph currently teaches Karate classes for his son’s business, Mount Mansfield Martial Arts.

2013 graduate of South Windsor High School where he was a four year starter on the Wrestling Team. As a freshman he compiled a 40-3 record, was the Class LL Champion, State Open Runner-up, and South Windsor High School Wrestling Rookie of the Year. In his sophomore year he had a 42-6 record, was second at the Class LL Championships and was the State Open Champion. As a junior, he was named Captain and had a 38-5 record, placed second at the Class LL Championships and placed fourth at the State Open. In his senior year 2013, he was again named Captain, compiled a 51-1 record, was the Class LL and State Open Champion and New England Championships Runner-up. Casey was named to the Wrestling USA All-American Team.

His high school career record is 171 wins with 15 losses, 125 pins, All-State recognition three times, All-Courant three times and All-Conference four times.

Casey received a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University in 2017. He was a four year Division 1 Wrestler and Starter, three year Captain and Wrestling Team Rookie of the Year. He was named to an Academic All-Conference Team, won the Conley Award Scholarship and served as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Team Representative.

Casey is presently a Financial Advisor with UBS and has acquired FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. His community service has included Cook and Grow-Michelle Obama initiative to fight childhood obesity, Fairfield Connecticut MS Walk Team Organizer and Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Team Organizer.

2001 graduate of South Windsor High School where he was a Honor Roll student and played track and football. In track, he competed in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash, Shot Put, Discus and Javelin. He was both Indoor and Outdoor Track Conference Champion (multiple times), State Record Holder for the Shot Put both Indoor and Outdoor in 2001, Shot Put State Champion both Indoor and Outdoor, the Hartford Public Invite and Trinity Invite Champion, New England Shot Put Indoor and Outdoor Champion 2000-2001, Adidas Indoor Shot Put Champion and Golden West Shot Put Champion. André was named a Nike All-American in 2001.

André graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Degree in Business Administration in 2005. As a member of the Men’s Track Team he was an A-10 Athlete of the Week Recipient for Indoor and Outdoor (Shot Put, Weight, Discus and Javelin in 2002-2004), ICAAAA First Place Shot Put 2002-2003 and Second Place for Outdoor Shot Put and Discus 2003-2004, A-10 Indoor and Outdoor Shot Put Champion and Discus Champion 2002-2003, New England Champion Outdoor and Indoor Shot Put 2002-2004, URI Top Field Performer 2002-2004 and Rhode Island State and URI Facility Record Holder for Outdoor Shot Put. André received the Albert Leboeuf Award at URI in 2004.

He is a Team Lead/Service Consultant for Individual Annuity Call Centers at the Hartford Insurance Company.

1987 graduate of South Windsor High School, where he was a member of the Varsity Football and Track and Field Teams. He was Captain of the Football Team in his senior year, and was voted All-CCC East Conference in both his junior and senior years on Offense (Wide Receiver) and Defense (Defensive Back). It was noted in the local press that he had vacuum cleaner hands. He was the first, and to date, the only player from the South Windsor High School Football Program to receive a full athletic scholarship to a Division I college/university.

Tim was also Captain of the Track and Field Team in his senior year. In his sophomore year, he won the Best All-Around Athlete Award at The Manchester Journal Inquirer Track Meet, where he placed first in the Long Jump and the Triple Jump, and placed in the High Jump. In his junior year, he was the State Class M Champion in the Long Jump and the Triple Jump, and he was the State Open Champion in the Triple Jump. He was also named to the All-State Team for the Triple Jump that year. In his senior year, he was State Class M Champion in the Triple Jump. He still holds the Triple Jump record for South Windsor High School.

Tim went on to attend Syracuse University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a Minor in Retail Business. He was a four-year letterman in football for the Orange from 1988 to 1991 and was a member of the undefeated 1987 Team. He was one of only eight players from the 1991 Team, of which he was a Captain, to have participated in five College Bowl Games in five years: The 1987 Sugar Bowl, The 1988 Hall of Fame Bowl, The 1989 Peach Bowl, The 1990 Aloha Bowl, and The 1991 Hall of Fame Bowl. The Team was 4-0-1 in those games. The Syracuse Football Team finished among the top 25 teams nationally for four of the five years he was there. The Team finished eleventh in the country and Beat Ohio State in The 1991 Hall of Fame Bowl his senior year, after which he was voted by his teammates to receive the Mark Hoffman Award for the best back and was named Second Team All-Big East Conference as a Free Safety. He finished his college career with 114 Solo Tackles, 67 Assisted Tackles, 2 interceptions, a Blocked Punt, and a Blocked Field Goal.

Since 1991, Tim has worked in the automobile business in Southern California, where he now lives with his wife, Michelle, and his son, Cassius.
